A simple method of flash-heating breast milk infected with HIV successfully inactivates the virus, according to a new study led by researchers at UC Berkeley and UC Davis. In this video, Kiersten Israel-Ballard, a doctoral candidate at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, demonstrates the process that could one day stop the transmittance of HIV from a nursing mother to her child.
