Frequently Asked Questions

General

Can you send me an Announcement/Prospectus/Brochure in the mail?

In the interest of reducing our environmental impact, we prefer not to mail you our official School of Public Health Announcement. It is available online as a PDF.

Can I attend the School of Public Health part-time?

No. All degree programs are full-time and all classes are held during the daytime.

Can I commute? Are class schedules convenient for out-of-towners?

Most students live in the immediate area (Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, etc.), but you may be able to commute from the greater Bay Area. However, it will be difficult to determine the feasibility of commuting before you actually schedule your classes.

What is the School doing in the areas of multiculturalism and diversity?

Director of Diversity, Abby M. Rincón, M.P.H., provides leadership in the development and implementation of a strategic plan for multiculturalism and diversity in the School. To reach the Director of Diversity call (510) 643-7900 or e-mail arincon@berkeley.edu. In addition, the School offers a specialty area in Multicultural Health.
