Alumni/Student Big Game Tailgating and Networking

The Public Health Alumni Association (PHAA) board of directors invites students and alumni to the 2nd Annual SPH alumni-student Big Game tailgate and networking event. Beer, wine, and food will be provided by PHAA, and the game will be projected for you to watch while you mingle and network. (Because alcohol will be served, you must be 21 or over to attend this event.) Space is limited to the first 125 students and alumni who sign up, so please respond soon if you plan to attend. Guests are welcome, but should be included in your RSVP.

If you are an alumna or alumnus planning to attend, we hope you will consider making a donation at the door or in advance of the event by visiting our giving page. The suggested donation for alumni is $20 to $50.

Recent Alumni Notes
Kassim Sidibe MD, MPH ’95 is country director at the CDC for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He provides technical and financial support to the Ministry of Health in the implementation of HIV/AIDS programs including prevention of mother-to-child transmission, HIV prevention among key populations, antiretroviral therapy, HIV care and support, HIV surveillance and HIV laboratory quality assurance. He supports development of human resources for health through the Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program and provides assistance in disease outbreak investigation such as the current outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in DRC.
Jayshree Chander MD, MPH ’03 writes, “I've just started Beyond Holistic, a new nonprofit organization focused on primary prevention of injuries and illnesses. It is a non-traditional physician led interdisciplinary, integrative, intercultural practice aiming to reduce dependence on medical care by engaging individuals as agents of personal and communal health through arts, action, humor, information, and inspiration, with special attention to people in their habit forming years.”
