Curriculum

The JMP curriculum is designed to ensure that our students enter their post-graduate training with a deep understanding of the social, behavioral, and ethical aspects of medicine and are well equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving healthcare system. The curriculum is constructed around three distinct yet interconnected strands of concurrent learning. JMP students engage in deep inquiry through their Master's in Health and Medical Sciences by researching any topic related to health. At the same time, students learn the foundations of doctoring by pursuing real world experiences in the Field Education strand, interwoven with their active, learner-led PBL Classroom curriculum.

The PRIME-US program is a joint opportunity with UCSF providing additional learning opportunities to work with urban underserved communities.

And finally, the abundant opportunities available at UC Berkeley provide JMP students with an amazing place to be inspired and learn.
