Public health touches every aspect of our lives on a daily basis. From the food we eat, to the buildings we work and live in, to the cars we drive, to the quality of our sleep. Our nation's economy, national defense, and the quality of our lives depend on the strength of the public's health and on the systems that support it.
Make a gift to the UC Berkeley School of Public Health and do your part to prevent disease, protect the public fromharm, and promote health throughout the state, the nation, and the world.
Every gift to the School of Public Health plays a vital role in improving the public's health by supporting:
Excellence in Education
Provide scholarships and fellowships to highly qualified, committed, and diverse students, many of whom cannot come to Berkeley without financial support. Support innovation in curriculum, new learning initiatives, and linkages to practice.
Breakthrough Research
Support distinguished faculty in their work to make groundbreaking, life-saving contributions to the public's health.
Public Service
Support the School in its work to build healthier communities through informed health policy, dissemination of health information, and a commitment to diversity, human rights and social justice.
Now, more than ever, gifts to the School of Public Health Fund are critical to maintaining the School's position as one of the top schools of public health in the country. Despite the fact that UC Berkeley is a public university, the School receives only 14 percent of its budget from state funds, a smaller percentage than at any time in the School's history. We rely on the generous support of alumni, friends, and the research grant support of our faculty to make up the difference.
