Center for Health Research
Established in January 2001, the Center for Health Research at the University of California, Berkeley, serves as a forum for bringing together social scientists and other investigators across the campus to address the many challenging issues facing the health sector of society. The Center focuses its efforts in three major areas of research:
- The social and behavioral determinants of health, health care-seeking behavior, and quality and outcomes of care.
- The impact of markets, organizations, and professions and the relationships among them as they influence issues of cost, access, quality, and outcomes of care.
- The causes and consequences of technological innovation, including e-health, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices as they impact the health of individuals and communities.
Targeted Financial Goal: $2.5 million
