SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH COMMITTEES

Academic Personnel Committee
Advises the Dean on Academic Personnel issues.

Curriculum Committee
Reports to the Faculty Council; reviews School curricula; approves new courses.

Dr.P.H. Management Committee
Oversees the Dr.P.H. degree program, including admissions and curriculum; makes policy recommendations to the Curriculum and Degrees Committee.

Health & Safety Committee
Reports to the dean; oversees health and safety issues for labs and general School facilities.

Henrik Blum Award Committee
Refines the selection process and chooses the recipient: a graduating student who has demonstrated commitment to social responsibility and social change as exemplified by Professor Emeritus Blum.

M.D./M.P.H. Committee
Oversees the joint M.D./M.P.H. degree program; faculty from both campuses serve on this committee.

M.P.H. Management Committee
Oversees the M.P.H. degree program, including admissions and curriculum; makes policy recommendations to the Curriculum and Degrees Committee.

M.S.W./M.P.H. Committee
Advisory body for the M.S.W./M.P.H. Dual Degree Program; membership is from Schools of Social Welfare and Public Health.

Multi-Cultural Opportunities Committee
Develops, facilitates and monitors diversity goals and activities; works closely with the dean, associate deans, and division heads on faculty and student recruitment, appointment and admissions; undertakes programs dealing with special concerns in public health and education for public health.

Research Committee
Advises faculty, staff and students on extramural research funding opportunities, changes in research grant procedures, and research services available on campus and at the School; obtains small grants for student and faculty research support, including endowments when possible; makes recommendations to the dean for individual faculty and student grant support; develops and oversees all faculty research symposia.

Space Advisory Committee
Reports to the dean; oversees space assignment and policy issues at the School.

Undergraduate Management Committee
Reports to the dean; oversees the undergraduate major in public health.
