2017-2018 School of Public Health Fees & Financial Aid Deadlines & Timeline

July

    • July 1: The application for the Roselyn Lindheim scholarship competition becomes available.
    • July 15: Fees are assessed and first Campus Accounts Receivable System (CARS) statement for fall semester is delivered
    • July 30: Departmental awards for 2017-2018 are applied to students' CARS accounts beginning in late July

August

    • August 15: Fall semester fees are due
    • August 18: First Installment is due

September

    • September 8: Deadline to become “fully registered” (enrolled, tuition and fees paid, no blocks). $150 Late Registration fee will be applied after this date.
    • September 19: Second Installment is due
    • September 30: Fall semester deadline to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for fall or fall/spring students.

October

    • October 1: FAFSA application is now available
    • October 6: Parent Contribution Appeal Form deadline for fall-only students
    • October 6: Student Contribution Appeal Form deadline for fall-only students
    • October 19: Third Installment is due

November

    • November 18: Fourth Installment is due
    • November 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loans for fall-only students

December

    • December 1: The application for the Public Health Alumni Association scholarship competition becomes available
    • December 1: Priority deadline for the Fall 2018 admissions cycle. Applicants who would like to be considered for the Graduate Opportunity Program Fellowship, the Kaiser Permanente Scholars Program, or the Programmatic Awards must submit a completed application by this deadline.
    • December 15: Last day to apply for an Emergency Loan for fall semester
    • December 16: Budget Appeal deadline for fall-only students
    • December 19: Fees are assessed and first CARS statement for spring semester is delivered
    • December 19: Fifth Installment is due

January

    • January 1: For AB 540-eligible students, the California Dream Act Application for the 2018-19 academic year is available; apply to receive a Dream Act award for 2018-19
    • January 1: Next year's FAFSA is now available at fafsa.gov. New and continuing students need to file their FAFSA by March 2. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2017-18 academic year is available.
    • January 12: First Installment is due
    • January 15: Spring semester fees are due

February,

    • March 2: File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by this on-time deadline for the upcoming 2017-18 academic year; completion of the FAFSA is required for all financial aid programs for both entering and continuing students
    • March 15: Third installment is due
    • March 31: The recipients of the Public Health Alumni Association Scholarship are announced
    • March 31: School of Public Health financial aid decisions for Fall 2018 admissions announced.

April

    • April 1: The application for the SPH Block Grant Fellowship for Continuing MPH & DrPH Students becomes available.
    • April 12: Fourth installment is due
    • April 28: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Loans for fall/spring or spring-only students
    • April 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loans for fall/spring and spring-only students

May
