- Wheat-field Variation and Nitrogen Fertilization Practices
Nitrogen-based fertilizer, once available, helped triple the world's population to what it is today. Also today, red tides and other forms of environmental degradation are attributed to fertilizer overuse. Statistical approaches are being designed to expedite studies of nutritional-environmental degradation-related tradeoffs. Because they utilize prior knowledge of agricultural distribution structure the new estimators can help optimize fertilization practices.
- Keeping Foods Safe and Unspoiled
Because the shelf life of a product is affected by many factors many qualifiers must be used when making a shelf life claim. Hence for various whole almond forms (commercially available in major markets) shelf life measurements are being studied under different storage conditions and using a variety commercial packages.
