Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) Fellowships
APTR fellowships give recent graduates and early career professionals an opportunity to work in public health and preventive medicine interest areas. Fellows gain leadership experience and train with leading experts in the fields of prevention and public health.

Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) Fellowship Programs

CDC Public Health Training Opportunities
The CDC offers a variety of training programs and fellowships in areas such as Applied and Laboratory Research, Epidemiology, Health Communication, Leadership, Policy, Prevention, and Informatics. They are looking for motivated students, graduates, and health professionals for a variety of exciting public health training programs.

Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship
The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program within the Policy and Global Affairs Division of the National Academies is designed to engage its Fellows in the analytical process that informs U.S. science and technology policy. Fellows develop basic skills essential to working or participating in science policy at the federal, state, or local levels. Each fellow is assigned to a senior staff member who acts as his or her mentor. The mentor provides guidance and ensures that the fellow’s time is focused on substantive projects and activities. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and those who have completed graduate studies or postdoctoral research in any social/behavioral science, medical/health discipline, physical or biological science field within the last five years are eligible to apply.

Commonwealth Fund Fellowships
Commonwealth Fund fellowship programs are designed to give promising young researchers the opportunity for in-depth study of various health care policy topics, working with investigators, policy analysts, government officials, and others in a number of U.S. and international settings.

Employee Benefit Research Institute Fellows Program
The Fellows Program is designed to aid the Employee Benefit Research Institute in carrying out its mission of research and education. It allows individuals from the government, private sector, academia, and media to undertake projects on health, retirement, and other economic security issues.

Global Health Fellows
GHFP fellows work in a variety of global health technical areas ranging from maternal and child health to nutrition to HIV/AIDS. Each fellow has a specific scope of work and placement site within USAID or with one of its partners. GHFP fellows work full time for two years with the possibility of extending their fellowships for an additional two years. During their placements, fellows gain valuable experience and expertise in global health development. Placements are made both in Washington, DC and in developing countries. Through these placements, fellows perform a wide range of duties in support of USAID health teams and their partners around the world.

National Cancer Institute (NCI) Fellowships
Listing of training opportunities within NCI's intramural research programs, which are conducted in the Institute's laboratories and clinics for basic, translational, and clinical science research.

ORISE Research Participation Programs at the CDC
The ORISE Research Participation Programs at the CDC are designed to provide a flow of scientists and engineers into the CDC to participate in current research and development activities and studies, and related technical projects.  In addition, the program will link the CDC's technologies with the capabilities of the academic community.  By supporting this program, the CDC will enhance the educational programs offered by academic institutions, strengthen the scientific and technical manpower base, transfer its knowledge and technology to the academic community, and support a growing national commitment to science education. This Fellowship is available for both graduate and undergraduate students.

Pasteur Foundation Post Doctoral Fellowship
These three-year fellowship positions are open to US citizens not currently in France wishing to work in the laboratories of the Institut Pasteur. Located in Paris and founded by Louis Pasteur in 1887, the Institut Pasteur is one of the world's leading private nonprofit centers for infectious disease research. With 2500 people of over 70 nationalities, its 130 research labs are devoted to the basic science of improving global public health.

U.S. Schweitzer Fellows Programs
New Description: Schweitzer Fellows—mostly university graduate students—partner with community-based organizations to identify an unmet health need, design a yearlong service project with a demonstrable impact on that need, and bring that project from idea to implementation and impact—all on top of their usual graduate school responsibilities.
