The UC Berkeley School of Public Health’s Online Master of Public Health is a 27-month program designed for working professionals that prepares them for rapid career growth.
Our expert faculty will help you develop your understanding of and skills in core areas of public health, including biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, social and behavioral science, and health services management. You will gain the knowledge needed to lead efforts in protecting against environmental hazards, preventing the spread of disease, encouraging healthy behaviors, helping communities recover from disaster, implementing best practices, and advocating for health care quality and accessibility.
Students earn their degrees in 2.5 years, taking 14 courses and earning 42-semester units. The program includes two intensive one-week on-campus experiences.
To be admitted into the Berkeley MPH Online Program, you will need to meet the following requirements:
1. Hold a bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution.
2. Demonstrate capability to study at the graduate level: Academic capability (via grades and course completion, GRE/test scores, etc.) Professional capability (through submission of required documents).
3. Have a minimum of two years of post-baccalaureate work experience (Work experience in the health or public health sectors is not required). It is possible to petition for an exemption based on exemplary work experience completed prior to earning a bachelor's degree. Schedule an appointment to learn more.
