How to Apply
Before you begin your application, you need to decide which degree and program will be the best fit to help you realize your academic and professional goals. The School of Public health offers ten different degree options across twelve areas of concentration. Refer to this chart for some fundamental information about each degree program. If you have questions about specific programs, please contact the individual listed on the chart.
Be sure that you designate the same program and degree on both your UC Berkeley Graduate Application and your SOPHAS application.
To apply for graduate study at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, you must complete both:
- the UC Berkeley Graduate Application for Admissions and Fellowship
and
- the SOPHAS application (Schools of Public Health Application Service).
Please follow the instructions on both sites carefully. Submitting an incomplete application will put you at a disadvantage in the admissions review process. You will need to complete the UC Berkeley Graduate Application first, as the SOPHAS application will require the 7-digit Doc. ID number that you will receive in a confirmation e-mail upon completing the UC Berkeley Graduate Application.
The SOPHAS application will be available on-line on August 28, 2008 and the UC Berkeley Graduate Application will be available on September 8, 2008. The application deadline for Fall 2009 is December 1, 2008. All mailed materials must be postmarked by November 24, 2008.
