On Monday, March 20, the UC Berkeley School of Public Health hosted newly admitted students at our annual Spring Vist Day. As the next generation of public health leaders gathered at the top of a sloping campus that many of them will one day call their alma mater, the Bay Area fog rolled out from International House down the beautiful Berkeley campus. Throughout the morning, Berkeley Public Health community members addressed topics from the inspirational to the practical, never losing the sense of wonder that comes from knowing you belong at Berkeley.
When Michael Parra and Madelena Ng shared their tips on navigating the bay area housing market, the cogs of planning had already started to turn within the minds of the eager future residents. By the time Professor Robinson promised, “I’ll see you in class,” the dream had sunk in. This is real. Welcome to the UC Berkeley School of Public Health.
